Matthew 28:1-10

On Easter Day we read the story of the Resurrection in Matthew’s Gospel. The passage is Matthew 28:1-10.

It is always helpful to understand one Gospel account of the Resurrection by reading all four: Matthew 28:1-10; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-11; and John 20:1-10). What similarities and differences do you see?

Since this year’s Easter sermon focuses on the relationship between fear and love, pay close attention to where these two elemental forces appear.

Imagine that fear one out for the two women, and for the eleven disciples. How would the story be different?
