Now is the time for re-connecting
Now is the time to make your plans for re-connecting to MBPPC’s programs after summer!
Why not try singing in the choir? Our chancel choir is a dedicated group who know how to enhance worship, have fun, and build great friendships. Best of all, you do NOT have to have any prior singing experience to be part of the fun.
Choir rehearsals resume on Thursday, September 6th, 7:00 p.m., in the sanctuary. And the choir will begin singing in worship on Sunday, September 8th.
This is also a time to get into the swing of Bible study. OK, so “swing” and “Bible study” might not go together in your mind like peanut butter and jelly, or rock and roll, or, for those of a certain age, Sonny and Cher. But I would contend that our Bible studies do swing! They’re a great way to deepen your spiritual life, get a better understanding of of the Sunday Scriptures, and meet new people.
The Saturday Bible study is a preview of the Sunday Scripture reading. It’s a chance to go deeper into the text, consider its message to you, and explore questions in an open conversation. We meet at 9:30 a.m,, both in-person and on Zoom. Ask Pastor Seese for a Zoom link at pastor@mtbakerchurch.org.
There is also a long-running Men’s Bible study on Wednesday mornings, 8-9:30 a.m. Ask Pastor Seese for a link to this one, too.
We are always looking for volunteers to help mentor the children through Sunday School lessons, craft projects, and singing (led by Ellen McLain on 4th Sundays after the Children’s Message).
And remember our two service projects: Operation Sandwich and Operation Nightwatch. Details about both of these can be found elsewhere in this newsletter and in your Sunday worship bulletin.
In Christ,
Lee
